Research background:
Demographic research has strong attainment at Department for Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, and the first research in the field of demography are related with the 1969 year, the year when Faculty of Sciences was founded. Team members of group are dealing with research of diverse aspect of population topics. Main activity of the team is delivering and implementation of research results in society.
Research covers various contemporary population issues:

- Population ageing
- Migration
- Human mortality
- Fertility
- Population policies
Collaboration:
Development and increase of scientific and professional collaboration is one of the research priority, at national as well as international level. Through diverse funds (IPA, COST, Bilateral cooperation, Erasmus+), team members already achieving meaningful collaboration with several Universities and research groups, both in region and other European countries. Group has also established collaboration with Association of Serbian Demographers, Provincial Secretariat for Social Policy, Demography and Gender Equality and Provincial Secretariat for Education, Regulations, Administration and National Minorities-National Communities.
