Biography:

• Mirjana Penić was born on the 13th of June, 1976, in Novi Sad, where she completed primary education and secondary school of economics (majoring in tourism technician). She enrolled the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad in 1995. She studied at the Department of Geography majoring in Geography – Tourismologist, where she graduated in 2002. She started her master’s studies as a manager in tourism in 2007. She finished her master’s studies in 2009, with an average of 9.67 and she was graded 10 in her thesis, under the title – Strategic development of the hotel product of Novi Sad. In 2009, she enrolled in doctoral studies at the same faculty at the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management under the Doctor of Geosciences (Tourism) study program. In 2016, she completed her doctoral studies with an average of 9.25 and defended the thesis titled – Quality of accommodation facilities as an indicator of the development of rural tourism in Serbia. 11.2019she received the scientific title of Scientific Associate in the field of social sciences-geography.
• She participated in the organization and implementation of international seminar conferences – DRC (Danube Rectors Conference), EIAT (Education and Industry Advancing Together), 14th International Conference of Historical Geographers, Kyoto, Japan and 5 regional conferences EnE09 environment towards Europe and 3 international conferences of ecotourism in Novi Sad, LORIST, II Congress of Geographers of Serbia – On the way to Europe, CTTH 2011, Seminar on business according to the principles of the HACCP system in the catering and hotel industry.
• Since 2005, she has been employed at the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hospitality as a student internship coordinator.
