Authors: Suhail Majid Shah, Gauri Rajput, Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Dar, Dr. Mo. Maharaj
Abstract: This study examines the impact of green practices on customer satisfaction in hotels located in the Kashmir Valley, India, with particular emphasis on energy and water conservation, waste management, and eco-friendly initiatives. Primary data were collected from 250 hotel guests using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis, and an independent samples t-test to examine the relationship between green practices and customer satisfaction. The findings reveal that green practices have a significant positive impact on customer satisfaction, explaining 24% of the variation in customer satisfaction. Furthermore, no statistically significant difference was found between male and female respondents regarding their perceptions of green practices and customer satisfaction. The study concludes that the adoption of green practices enhances customer satisfaction and contributes to sustainable hotel management in the Kashmir Valley, India. EUROPEAN APPROACHES TO THE ROMAN LIMES BETWEEN HERITAGE AND TOURISM: EXAMPLES OF GOOD PRACTICES FOR THE TRANSYLVANIAN LIMES
Authors: Gudea Ioana
Abstract: Archaeological tourism has developed unevenly across Europe, with Western countries demonstrating more advanced models of heritage valorisation compared to Romania. This study examines the potential of the Transylvanian sector of the former Roman province of Dacia Porolissensis to be integrated into sustainable archaeological tourism systems. The research employs a qualitative and comparative approach, combining spatial analysis of the north-western Limes (between Bologa and Porolissum) with the evaluation of established European models, including Hadrian’s Wall and the German Limes system within the Frontiers of the Roman Empire. The analysis focuses on site distribution, accessibility, and the degree of integration into tourism networks. The results indicate that, despite a high density of archaeological resources, the Transylvanian Limes lacks functional integration, coordinated management, and tourism infrastructure. In contrast, international examples demonstrate that route-based organisation, institutional cooperation, and diversified visitor
experiences generate significant economic benefits, including increased visitor flows and regional development. The study concludes that the archaeological heritage of Transylvania represents a substantial yet underutilised resource. Its valorisation requires the transition from a predominantly descriptive and archaeological perspective to an integrated, tourism-oriented framework capable of supporting sustainable economic growth..

SOCIO-DEMOGRAPHIC DIFFERENCES IN TOURISTS’ PERCEPTION OF MEMORABLE TOURISM EXPERIENCE AND DESTINATION PERSONALITY: A CASE STUDY OF BANJA LUKA
Authors: Dajana Kopuz, Sanja Kovačić
Abstract: Although memorable tourism experience and destination personality have attracted increasing attention in tourism research, a limited number of studies have examined these concepts within a unified analytical framework, particularly in relation to tourists’ socio-demographic characteristics. The aim of this study was to examine differences in the perception of memorable tourism experience and destination personality in relation to tourists’ socio-demographic characteristics (gender, age, education level, employment status, and monthly income), as well as the number of visits to the destination and travel companions. The study included 110 respondents, comprising both domestic and international tourists who visited the city of Banja Luka (Bosnia and Herzegovina). Data were collected through both on-site and online questionnaires using a convenience sampling approach and analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 23. The results indicate statistically significant differences in the perception of memorable tourism experience and destination personality based on respondents’ gender and number of visits to the destination, while no significant differences were found for the remaining variables. The study contributes to the existing literature by providing insights into memorable tourism experience and destination personality within a unified socio-demographic framework in the context of Banja Luka, a destination that has received limited attention in this type of tourism research. These findings provide useful insights for identifying target tourist segments and developing marketing strategies aimed at positioning and differentiating Banja Luka in the tourism market.

SUSTAINABLE ECOTOURISM PRACTICES: INFLUENCE ON DESTINATION CHOICE AMONG TOURISTS VISITING INDIA
Authors: Dr Paresh R. Lingadkar, Dr K G Sankaranarayanan
Abstract: The research explores the influence of sustainable ecotourism practices, for instance: environmental conservation, community participation, cultural heritage preservation, and sustainability orientation, on tourists’ destination choice when visiting ecotourism destinations in India. Data collected through a standardized questionnaire were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. Results show that environmental conservation has a substantial positive influence on visitor’s location choice, succeeded by cultural heritage preservation and sustainability orientation. Community engagement failed to influence tourists’ destination selection. These results highlight the need for tourism industry stakeholders to prioritize environmental and cultural heritage preservation, as well as sustainability, to attract more ecotourists.

GASTRONOMY AND CULTURAL ADAPTATION AMONG DIGITAL NOMADS IN ISTANBUL: A NETNOGRAPHIC STUDY OF YOUTUBE NARRATIVES
Authors: Zehra Yardi, Yunus Emre Yurdakul
Abstract: This study examines how digital nomads living in Istanbul make sense of the city’s food culture and how their gastronomic experiences relate to cultural adaptation. Drawing on Berry’s acculturation framework, the analysis considers how trying local dishes, engaging with Turkish culinary traditions and using digital platforms are narrated by nomads themselves. The research is based on a qualitative, netnographic analysis of 18 YouTube videos posted by self-identified digital nomads, examined through thematic analysis. The findings suggest that many nomads approach Turkish cuisine with openness, blending their own food habits with new tastes encountered in the city. YouTube and other digital tools appear to shape expectations and guide food-related choices, while shared meals, market visits and everyday encounters are described as helping nomads connect with others and feel more at home. Some challenges — difficulty understanding menus, unfamiliar flavours, hygiene concerns — also emerge. Given the qualitative and exploratory nature of the study, these patterns should be read as illustrative rather than generalisable. The study offers fresh insight into a growing yet understudied group in Türkiye and points to practical implications for destinations seeking to improve gastronomic communication and accessibility.
