Department Library
The origin and work of the Library is tied to the founding of the Chair of Geography. Today we are part of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management, on the second floor of the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad. Along with over 18,000 books, the library holds more than 330 journal titles, in around 12,000 volumes. Available to users are 6,500 geographical maps and sections of various scales. The library also holds all works defended at the Department – both in written and electronic form. The electronic catalog contains around 26,000 records of monographic publications, manuscripts, journals, journal articles, and this number grows daily with the entry of new publications and retrospective cataloging of publications from existing holdings. Catalog is available on the Department's website.
Regular members of the library are all students and postgraduate students. To enroll, you need to bring your index (student record book). Regular members of the library also include all employees of the Department. The user account for the online catalog is activated in the library. All other users (retirees, researchers and students from other departments of the Faculty of Sciences and other faculties, as well as high school graduates) have temporary member status. For enrollment, an ID card is required, and for high school graduates, a confirmation from the school. Enrollment is free of charge, and members are obliged to respect the Library's rules.

How the DGTH Library operates
- The reading room is open to users on working days, from 8 AM to 2 PM. It contains 5 computers and 12 places for work and study.
- The user account for using the online catalog is activated in the library upon registration, and existing users can activate it later, in person or by email.
-
All publications available in the library in electronic form can be obtained by email – next to their call numbers in the catalog it says CD or PDF. What does not exist in electronic form you borrow in the usual way.
-
If you wish to borrow books, it is preferable to reserve them by email or phone.
- Information on how to obtain a confirmation from the library in order to register your final thesis can be found on this page.
-
For any additional information we are at your disposal. You can contact us by email, phone, or come to the library.
New access to the DGTH Library
Create your BISIS user profile and use a range of online services: insight into borrowed materials and return deadlines, the ability to extend the return deadline for borrowed materials yourself, insight into the books you have read so far, membership expiry date, rating of read books… If you are a member of our library, it is enough to send an email to biblioteka@dgt.uns.ac.rs and an activation link will be sent to you. In the Play Store, download the BISIS mobile application. Select the DGTH Library, log in to your profile and use additional benefits. You will have an electronic membership card always with you. Catalog searching is simpler, the selection of publications for the „shelf“ is facilitated so that you can review them in more detail later, as well as the selection of electronically available publications and access to them. You can ask the librarian a question, and you will also receive current information about the library's working hours, activities, newly acquired publications, and similar.
Use of works defended at the Department in electronic form
In order to receive works that exist in electronic form, you need to send a request to the library by email, in which you must state:
-
The CALL NUMBER of the work you need, your NAME AND SURNAME and your LIBRARY USER NUMBER (written in the index as "Bibl. …")
-
Requests for works in electronic form should be sent to biblioteka@dgt.uns.ac.rs
Per one request (daily) it is possible to request 3 works, so we ask you to make a selection of what you want to use. All requests are recorded through library circulation (as used publications). We do not send by email works available on the PMF ePortal, nor doctoral dissertations available in the CRIS repository at: CRIS UNS
