UNDERSTANDING PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT THROUGH SAFE HIGHWAY TRANSPORT MOBILITY WITH SPECIAL REVIEW ON CLIMATE – THE HIGHWAY ROUTE BELGRADE–NOVI SAD, SERBIA
Authors: Ivana Sentić, Tijana Đorđević
Abstract: This paper focuses on the highway corridor Belgrade-Novi Sad, Serbia and the relationship between the highway and surrounding nature, as an integral part of the spatial entity which the highway belongs to. The paper emphasizes a high importance of studying the physical-geographical factors in the process of highway construction in order to achieve high level of traffic safety. Particular attention was directed to climate elements – the factors that are not so visible, but still may pose a great risk to road safety. Data were taken from CARPATCLIM database and their evaluation was confirmed by the data obtained from CHEK-LISTS. It was found that the climate elements have a strong influence, but it can be successfully controlled by vegetation. Landscape design of both sides of the highway may offer a possibility of mitigating the influence of climate elements, which was also pointed out in the paper.

DANUBE RIVER DISCHARGE AT BEZDAN GAUGING STATION (SERBIA) AND ITS CORRELATION WITH ATMOSPHERIC CIRCULATION PATTERNS
Authors: Dragan Dolinaj, Igor Leščešen, Milana Pantelić, Marko Urošev, Dragana Milijašević Joksimović
Abstract: For understanding hydroclimatological process chain it is crucial to identify relations between largescale climatic circulations and river discharge. The Danube is one of the most important European waterways, flowing 2.857 kilometers across the Europe and with 817.000 km2 basin. Danube River average and maximum discharges are correlated with eight atmospheric circulation patterns indices: AOi, EAi, EA/WRi, ENSOi, MOi, NAOi, SCANDi and WeMOi in 65 years period at the Bezdan gauging station in Serbia. Obtained results showed that precipitation, MOi and WeMOi have constant and dominant influences on Danube River average discharge at Bezdan gauging station, while maximum discharge is mainly influenced by precipitation and MOi. All registered correlations are positive.

BOOSTING CITY IMAGE FOR CREATION OF A CERTAIN CITY BRAND
Authors: Ahmadreza Shirvani Dastgerdi, Giuseppe De Luca
Abstract: Global cities are increasingly competing together in order to showcase themselves as the best destination for tourists, investors, and talented people. During the last four decades, there has been a growing interest in City branding. It takes place within a communication system that closely connects the overall city image and identity. Community leaders are more and more recognizing that there is a direct link between the city image and its attractiveness as a place to visit, live, invest, and study. Aimed at developing the theoretical framework of city branding, this research attempts to identify and explain the relationship between the variables affecting the city image as a paradigmatic model of city branding and sustainable urban development. Therefore, 35 peer-reviewed articles are initially selected from the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), through purposive sampling. Then, the collected data is analyzed in four stages using grounded theory. The results of this study indicate that the boosting of city image is a complex process that continuously and dynamically requires a meaningful combination of planning, actions, and stakeholders at various organizational levels.

KARST GEOHERITAGE AND GEOTOURISM POTENTIAL IN THE PEK RIVER LOWER BASIN (EASTERN SERBIA)
Authors: Aleksandar Antić, Nemanja Tomić, Slobodan Marković
Abstract: Karst areas, as areas with attractive geological and geomorphological features are an important and integral part of geoheritage. They possess huge tourism potential and can be used for the development of geotourism. The Pek River basin is a highly dominant karst terrain with numerous geological and geomorphological features, especially caves. However, their geotourism potential still remains fully unrevealed. In this paper, we analyzed several geosites that represent significant karst geoheritage formations and as such they can be the backbone of future geotourism development in this area. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the geotourism potential of the Pek River lower basin and to determine the current state and geotourism potential of these geosites by applying the modified geosite assessment model (M-GAM).

Abstract: The European Union (EU) is giving significant financial support to member states through Common agricultural policy (CAP). The problem is that the effects of EU funds are not presented in the way that would allow wide auditorium to understand their benefits. This is very important because it explains where the money collected from the EU citizens is spent. The goal of this paper is to present a model of visualisation by using geographic information system (GIS) as an effective tool for simple analysis of administrative EU measures, taking into consideration multiple factors at once. Results gained by using GIS show that there is only 2 of 27 EU countries that present significant positive correlation between invested funds and agricultural outputs.

MODELING, EVALUATION, AND ZONING OF MARIVAN COUNTY ECOTOURISM POTENTIAL USING FUZZY LOGIC, FAHP, AND TOPSIS
Authors: Jahanbakhsh Balist, Hamideh Heydarzadeh, Esmail Salehi
Abstract: Among all the diverse regions of Iran, Marivan is considered one of the touring poles in the country thanks to its unique views which play an important role in providing ecotourism potential. Currently, despite the importance of the issue, no specific study and planning have been done to locate proper zones for an outing. In this regard, evaluation of the land potential for any kind of activity such as recreational planning is the first step in planning. In this study, we evaluated and zoned the ecotourism potential of Marivan in Kurdistan province with fuzzy logic, FAHP, and TOPSIS, based on 15 criteria and applying GIS, where the outcome was zoning map of areas most suitable for ecotourism development. The results indicated that a total area of 3183 km2 (included in the study), classes 4 and 5, respectively, with 151 and 513 km2 constitute the most appropriate zones for ecotourism development. Among points with ecotourism attraction, the Zarivar Lake claimed the top priority while Anjiran Heights received the last priority.
