On Monday, 16.01.2012, in the restaurant Ribarac in Novi Sad, starting at 19:00, the Chinese evening – an evening in the land at the center of the world was held.
A group of 28 students of undergraduate and master's studies of the tourism, hotel management and gastronomy modules of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management realized the practical part of the exam in the course Animation in Tourism through this thematic evening.
The thematic evening is of a humanitarian nature and all the money collected by organizing the Chinese Evening (sold tickets and sponsorships) was donated to "Život" – the Citizens' Association for the Fight against Rare Diseases in Children, and the gifts that the guests brought will be distributed to the children in the Safe House in Novi Sad.
During the four-hour program, the guests had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Chinese dances, to get better acquainted with the culture of China, as well as its history and geography, which was presented to them in an interesting way. In addition, the guests had the honor of attending a Chinese wedding and getting acquainted with the wedding customs of distant China.
Along with the music, with which a special guest from China entertained the guests, all those present received useful information about Feng Shui, the Chinese horoscope and acupuncture. In the end, the patient guests were rewarded by the generous sponsors of the Chinese Evening.
During the program, the guests also enjoyed Chinese specialties prepared by the skillful hands of talented gastronomy students.
At the end of the evening, the Director of the Department, Prof. Dr. Lazar Lazić, addressed all those present.
The guests of the evening were professors, assistants, donors, family and friends who beautified this evening with their presence and showed the humane side of their personality. About 160 guests were present.
