Last weekend, the Belgrade Fair hosted the Southern Europe semi-final of the Global Chefs Challenge and the gastronomy competition Food Vision by Open Balkan, where our undergraduate and doctoral gastronomy students achieved outstanding results.

Milana Čugalj, assisted by Mihailo Malbaša, and Đura Tintor won gold medals in their competition categories. Milana and Mihailo achieved a particular success: by winning first place, they secured a spot in the grand final of the Global Chefs Challenge, to be held in Shanghai next year. There they will represent Serbia and Southern Europe in the Global Green Chef Challenge category.

At the Food Vision by Open Balkan competition, the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management was represented by Biljana Vukov, Ana Bala and Nina Bakić. Their performance showed a high level of knowledge, culinary skill and creativity, confirming that gastronomy students can compete on equal terms with experienced professionals in the culinary world.
These results reflect dedicated work, thorough preparation, team spirit and the successful application of the knowledge and skills gained during their studies. Taking part in prestigious gastronomy competitions gives students the opportunity to exchange experience with professionals, develop their creativity and self-confidence, and further build the competencies that matter for their future careers.

The Chair of Gastronomy and the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management warmly congratulate all the students on their results.
We are proud of their achievements and of the way they represent our Faculty, and we wish them the best of luck and many more awards in the challenges ahead!
