Lazar Lazić

Full Professor

Short biography:

Born on April 9, 1962 in Novi Sad. Graduated in 1986, completed his Master's in 1992, and received his PhD in 1996 at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad. In the period 1988/89, he worked at the tourist agency "Kompas", and since 1990 he has been employed at the Faculty of Sciences. He was elected Assistant Professor in 1996, Associate Professor in 2001, and Full Professor in 2006.

  • Editor of the monographs "Jegrička" and "Mostonga and the waters of Western Bačka" in the edition "Tija voda" by KID "Pčesa". Since 1996, member of the editorial board of the edition "Cultural-historical heritage of Vojvodina" (13 books) published by KID "PČESA".
  • President of the Publishing Council of the Faculty of Sciences and member of the editorial board at the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management.
  • Since December 2001, Editor-in-Chief of the popular science magazine "Gea", and since March 2008, Editor-in-Chief of the International Scientific Journal "Geographica Pannonica".
  • In the period 2002–2006, he was Director of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad, and in the period 2005–2009, President of the Serbian Geographical Society, branch Society of Geographers of Vojvodina. During 2007, he served as project leader of the project "Education of employees in tourism – Education in rural tourism" funded by the National Investment Plan in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of the Republic of Serbia. He was Director of the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management at the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad for the period 2009–2012.
  • Member of the Serbian Geographical Society, branch Society of Geographers of Vojvodina.
