02 February 2012
On 02.02.2012, students of the Faculty of Sciences organized an animation evening titled "In the rhythm of times past", where about 250 guests had the honor of attending the revival of the grandiose dances of the great courts from the end of the 19th century, along with great gastronomic cuisine and the hospitality of students and professors as could only be expected in the great courts.
The honorary guests of this evening were Serbian volleyball representatives Slobodan Boškan, Vasa Mijić and Andrija Gerić, who decided to support the action of the Faculty of Sciences students and show the humane side of their personality. The Rector of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Miroslav Vesković, also honored those present with his presence, and had only words of praise for his students.
The animation evening "In the Rhythm of Times Past" aimed to highlight cultural values by showing what it looked like in the great courts in the second half of the 19th century. The evening was conceived as a competitive spirit for the struggle for a European scholarship through the dances English Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Paso Doble, old town dances, ballet and through the interpretation of French chansons and traditional Italian songs, and a tourist presentation of European castles, leading guests through Great Britain, Spain, France, Austria, Germany, Italy, Russia and Serbia.
All funds collected by organizing the ball are intended for the humanitarian organization "Srce", which has been operating in the territory of Vojvodina for 20 years with the aim of helping and preventing people suffering from all types of depression, especially preventing suicides, the percentage of which in Serbia today is not at an enviable level.
The main sponsors of the evening were primarily the Faculty of Sciences, the Department of Geography, Tourism and Hotel Management and the Park Hotel from Novi Sad. Many other sponsors also showed their humane side: Serbian National Theatre, Magični svet Novi Sad, Ballet School Novi Sad, Academy of Arts Novi Sad, KUD Sonja Marinković, Kikiber farm Vršac, Agrofert Novi Sad, Knjaz Miloš Aranđelovac, Go2 Travelling Novi Sad, Brauerei MB Novi Sad, Građevinac Bački Jarak, DOO Globus Bijeljina, Dance Club Fiesta, JKP Gradsko Zelenilo, Pashanga cafee Novi Sad, Football Club Bačka Pačir, EKO DB Pačir, 2 šmizle jewelry Belgrade, IMG gym Novi Sad, Babz blue hair salon Novi Sad, Hotel klub A Kopaonik, Janković jewelry Novi Sad, pastry shops Slatkiš, Slađana, Umičević, Noisete, Palma, Lazarević family, Raljić catering and bakeries Anja and Dunav.
