Authors: Ivana Blešić, Jelena Tepavčević, Tamara Lukić, Milka Bubalo Živković, Milorad Todorović
Abstract: The concept of green restaurants has a significant impact on the promotion of eco-gastronomy tourism. This research investigates the potential of green restaurants as a sustainable tourism strategy with the objective of enhancing the appeal of urban tourist destinations in Vojvodina (Serbia). The survey was carried out between February and November 2024 in restaurants located in four urban destinations within the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (Novi Sad, Subotica, Sombor, and Zrenjanin), with a total of 287 respondents participating. The research findings showed a connection between attitudes towards gastronomy tourism and green restaurants, as well as between the importance of green practices and attitudes towards these types of restaurants. In addition, knowledge and interest in gastronomy significantly influence their desire to visit destinations with green restaurants. The results suggest that promoting green restaurant initiatives could position the cities of Vojvodina as competitive destinations for eco-gastronomy tourism.

Authors: Jeena JoyA*, Dr. Gireesh Kumar G.SB
Abstract: influencer marketing is an emerging trend in social media marketing. in the present study, we identified various factors which influence followers towards travel influencers and their impact on followers’ attitudes and visit intentions. the research population includes all social media users who follow any travel influencers on social media. based on ducoffes’ advertising value model and source credibility theory, three variables, such as entertainment, informativeness and source credibility, were identified and tested. the research employed a structured quantitative approach using a self administered questionnaire. 172 valid responses were collected and analysed using spss and amos sem. the findings of the study show that the three factors entertainment, informativeness and source credibility have a significant positive impact on followers’ attitudes. however, source credibility has a more significant impact, followed by entertainment and informativeness. also, the study reveals that a positive attitude among followers enhances the intention to visit the destination recommended by travel influencers. these findings help destination marketers and tourism operators to create more useful influencer marketing campaigns. further, future researchers can expand the current research model by adapting more factors which impact followers’ attitudes and visit intention.

STRATEGIC DYNAMICS OF MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS IN THE TOURISM AND HOTEL INDUSTRY: INSIGHTS, CHALLENGES, AND OPPORTUNITIES
Authors: Denis Prevolšek
Abstract: Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) serve as strategic mechanisms for growth, resource optimization, and competitive positioning, particularly within the dynamic and diverse tourism industry, including the hotel sector. This case study synthesizes insights from five research papers to analyze critical factors influencing M&A in subsectors such as hotels, travel agencies, and cruise companies. Using a meta-analytical methodology, the study explores themes including determinants of success, the impact of institutional environments, strategic decision-making, and temporal perspectives on performance outcomes. Findings highlight the pivotal role of payment methods (cash versus stock), with cash payments generally preferred in stable environments for reducing uncertainty and enhancing trust. Institutional and regulatory factors significantly influence payment strategies and post-merger success. Resource criticality drives strategic decisions, such as vertical integration in the hotel and cruise sectors, while partnerships mitigate risks in high-stakes scenarios. Although M&A activities often result in short-term financial volatility, effective post-merger integration and resource optimization, exemplified by methodologies like Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), lead to long-term efficiencies and profitability. Practical recommendations for managers include aligning payment methods with institutional contexts, prioritizing detailed integration plans, leveraging alliances to mitigate risks, and tailoring strategies to the unique needs of specific subsectors such as hotels. Academically, the study contributes to the understanding of M&A by synthesizing diverse methodologies and addressing underexplored areas, such as the dynamics of hotel-sector efficiencies. While recognizing limitations, including reliance on secondary data and a narrow scope, this research offers actionable insights and paves the way for further exploration of evolving trends in M&A strategies across the tourism industry.

MEGHALAYA’S NATURE-BASED TOURISM AND VISITORS’ ENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS BEHAVIOUR IN RESPONSE TO CLIMATE CHANGE
Authors: Paramjeet Kumar
Abstract: The study investigates how climate change understanding, sustainable actions and experience in Meghalaya’s nature-based tourism go together. Combining methods, data was obtained from different tourists who answered questionnaires and underwent interviews. Through our research, we found a variety of things that influence whether visitors act responsibly which gives us a more detailed view of their eco-friendly views and behaviours. Because of concern over climate change, people travelling are now more likely to act in environmentally friendly ways. We can see from the research that many population groups are becoming more concerned about nature which supports the idea of individualised approaches to treatment. It also investigates the association between thinking more about the environment and the quality of a nature visitor’s experience. It is shown through studies that when tourists care for nature, they value their experiences with Meghalaya’s natural gems more. Examining what this research means for both practice and public policy, it joins other studies that examine sustainable tourism on the topic of how nature-based tourism might move forward in Meghalaya under changing climate.
