Project description:
PRONACUL emphasizes the idea of promoting and preserving natural and cultural heritage and supports the development of a transnational strategy for the joint promotion of the ADRION area as a tourist destination. The partners have sites protected by UNESCO or Natura 2000, or they will become protected sites in the PRONACUL pilot areas.
The main general goal of PRONACUL is to achieve a level of capacity for stakeholders in the areas of improved management of natural and cultural heritage in the function of sustainable tourism development in the ADRION area. PRONACUL's activities will bring changes to the current situation by developing new tourism products, which will bring PRONACUL's partners into a position where natural and cultural heritage is experienced as new content. Changes will be made by improving management for the preservation of natural and cultural heritage for other purposes, which are appropriate for this time period and assessed development. This will be achieved through the development, application and promotion of a common methodology for the management of natural and cultural heritage in the Adriatic area based on a participatory approach of stakeholders. The common methodology will be tested and later applied in 15 pilot areas, whose experiences will result in a joint proposal for the identification of a regional route. The activities will be supported with the help of a virtual chamber established with the aim of promoting the common methodology and its transfer to other ADRION areas. The chamber will be an advisory body for all stakeholders in the field of tourism development, where regions will exchange experiences and best practices in the management of natural and cultural heritage. In order to improve policies for the management of natural and cultural heritage, the common methodology will be distributed to policy makers in the form of recommendations for concrete local, regional and national policies.
