Cities have always been and have remained the center of culture, economy, politics and society. Diversity, bustle, creativity, aesthetics, cultural, economic and social opportunities make cities exciting and dynamic, but on the other hand, cities are the centers of humanity's greatest problems. They are centers of high unemployment, poverty, crime, crowds of people in a small space, high environmental pollution, etc. Today, medium-sized cities are in focus, especially in Europe. These cities are fighting for their place and their path towards the global, modern market with large cosmopolitan cities. This fight is not at all easy, and that is why they manage in various ways, using creativity and innovation as their trump cards in their urban development. Thus, it is precisely medium-sized cities, in Western Europe, America, and now more widely, that are the cradle of progress and the planned transition from a production economy to a service economy.
